Activity guide for this page

Recommended age: Ages 8–12
Estimated time: 55–85 min
Difficulty: Challenging
Areas to color: about 380

Coloring order

Begin with the rounded hood and sides of the open-top Roadster 1st gen in one even blue, then color the two seats inside black or dark gray.
Next, use grays for the three bead-like headlights, the mesh air intake below them, and the charging post on the right with its hanging cable.
Last, the flower boxes on the lodge balcony, the stone pillars, the hydrangeas at bottom left and the snowy peaks across the lake, small spaces first.

Questions to talk about

What would the wind feel like driving by the lake with no roof?
What could you see looking down from the lodge balcony?
Have you ever seen a car being charged in your neighborhood?

Take it further

Bunch tiny circles together to draw a flower cluster like the hydrangeas at bottom left, or glue on small bits of torn colored paper as petals.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.

Printing and coloring tips

Print on A4 or Letter in portrait to keep the original proportions.
Keep the finished version open beside you while you color.
Use slightly heavier paper with water-based markers so the ink shows through less.
Fill the large areas first and leave the small ones for later.
The finished version is only a suggestion. Any colors you like will work.
