Coloring order
- Color Leafy's round face and chubby body a fresh lime green first, then fill the middle of the belly with a soft pale yellow.
- Use a deeper green for the two sprouts on the head and the big leaf-shaped wings, shifting the shade a little along each leaf vein.
- Give each leaf of the clover at the tail tip a different green, then finish the eyes and the smile in your darkest color.
Questions to talk about
- What do Leafy's wings remind you of? Can you find out?
- What might the sprouts on Leafy's head grow into?
- Have you ever planted a seed or looked after a little plant?
Take it further
Set green paper leaf shapes or leaves you found outside next to Leafy's wings, talk about what looks alike, and draw one leaf you like.
