Coloring order
- Color Sunny's head and body bright yellow first, then fill the big oval on the belly with a warm orange.
- Alternate orange and yellow along the spiky sunbeam crest around the head, and give the two fluffy wings soft, pale colors.
- The little sun at the end of the tail gets your brightest shade. Save the wide-open smile and the round eyes for last.

- What do the pointy shapes around Sunny's head look like to you?
- Sunny is laughing out loud. What story might have been so funny?
- On a bright, sunny day, where would you like to play, and what would you do?
Take it further
Draw a smiling sun on a paper plate with rays like Sunny's crest, then invent your sun's laugh and share it with friends.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
