Coloring order
- Start with Sparky's round face and chubby body in red or orange, then color the big oval on the belly a soft, pale yellow.
- Pick a different color for the two little horns on top of the head and the two bat-style wings so they stand out from the body.
- Color the small flame shape at the tip of the tail in yellow and orange, and finish the eyes with your darkest color.
Questions to talk about
- What shape does the flame at the end of Sparky's tail look like to you?
- This baby dragon is smiling wide. What good thing might have just happened?
- Can you remember a day when you were so happy you couldn't stop smiling?
Take it further
Tear yellow and orange paper into flame shapes and glue one to Sparky's tail tip. Then invent a brand-new tail-tip shape and give it a name.
