Coloring order

  1. Leave Orbit's white body empty and start with the orange and blue stripes on the front of the long wings and on the tail fin.
  2. Color the pointed nose black, the row of windows and the eyes sky blue, and the round engines under the wings gray.
  3. Use blue and green for the round Earth below and navy for space above, then finish by dotting the yellow stars one by one.

Questions to talk about

  • What do you think Orbit says as it looks down at the Earth from space?
  • Orbit has wings. How might it come back down to Earth?
  • Have you looked at the stars at night? How many could you see?

Take it further

Glue yellow paper stars on black paper and connect them with lines to invent your own constellation. Introduce it as Orbit's flight path.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
