Coloring order
- Leave the round head of the comet at the top nearly white, and let its long trailing streaks blend from pale blue into sky blue.

- Color the wavy-striped planet at the lower right in two alternating blues, and finish with yellow on the three big stars.
Questions to talk about
- The comet research probe is heading toward the comet. What will it look at up close?
- What shape is the comet's long tail? Can you draw it in the air?
- What do you think the dish antenna does? Have you seen something like it?
Take it further
Add a paper dish and square panels to a cardboard tube for a probe, then follow a friend trailing a ribbon tail like a comet.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
