Coloring order

  1. Color the tilted rocket's body white, its nose and fins red, and its round window light blue.
  2. Color the long flame trailing behind from yellow into orange, and the big Earth below with a blue ocean and green land.
  3. Last, color the little satellite's panels at the top left in purple squares, the Moon at the top right pale gray, and the round orbit line navy.

Questions to talk about

  • The rocket in Earth orbit is circling around. What is the friend in the window looking at?
  • What do you think the small satellite at the top left is doing?
  • If you flew once around Earth and came home, what would you do first?

Take it further

Spread your arms like rocket fins and walk slowly once around the room, saying one sentence about what you saw out the window.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
