Activity guide for this page
- Recommended age
- Ages 4–7
- Estimated time
- 20–35 min
- Difficulty
- Medium
- Areas to color
- about 190
Coloring order
- Start with Flare's big red body and the cream-colored bumper, treating them as two large sections.
- Next, color the round coiled hose on the side, the star badge on the door, and those big eyes and wide smile in bold shades.
- Last, color the long ladder tilted across the roof and the row of warning lights: silver for the rungs, then yellow and blue for the lights.
Questions to talk about
- When might Flare use that long ladder on the roof?
- What news just reached Flare, so it is rushing out?
- What should we do when we hear a siren on the street?
Take it further
Lay a colored-tape road on the floor and play a siren game. When someone makes the siren sound, everyone stops and lets the engine pass, slowly and calmly.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
