Coloring order

First, give each of the four big shapes on the floor, the cone, the arch, the ramp and the box, one clear solid color: orange, red, blue and yellow work well.
Color Nari, kneeling and tapping her tablet, in calm shades, and make round Toto bright so it stands out as it follows the dotted path.
Last, link up the dotted route, the checkered floor, the shelf and globe at the back and the stool in pale colors.

Questions to talk about

What command does Toto need first to follow the dotted path?
After passing the arch and reaching the yellow box, which way will Toto turn?
Have you ever given directions with words like forward or turn right?

Take it further

Build a coding obstacle course on the floor from pillows and boxes. A friend follows spoken commands like three steps forward to get through.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.

Printing and coloring tips

Print on A4 or Letter in portrait to keep the original proportions.
Keep the finished version open beside you while you color.
Use slightly heavier paper with water-based markers so the ink shows through less.
Fill the large areas first and leave the small ones for later.
The finished version is only a suggestion. Any colors you like will work.
