Ways to use this collection
Three sky dragons live in this set: Voltaris the lightning dragon, Zephyrella the wind dragon and Somnimbus the cloud dragon. Voltaris has wide blue wings laced with lightning veins, Zephyrella curls into a long ribbon trimmed with feathery fins, and Somnimbus is covered in fluffy cloud-like scales, so each page invites a different coloring technique.
Activity ideas
- Color Voltaris in deep navy against lightning yellow, and Somnimbus in pale blue and pink with white paper showing through, then compare their moods.
- Draw swirling wind lines in the empty space around Zephyrella's long curving body, then use three pencil colors to show the breeze getting faster and faster.
- Cut out the finished dragons, glue them onto blue paper and add speech bubbles with the first thing each would say when they meet in the sky.
Tip The scales and feathers are fine, so these suit ages 6 to 7 and up; younger children can color just the wings and finish a dragon in 20 to 30 minutes.
