Ways to use this collection
This water and ice set brings together Aqualune, a sea dragon curving like a long sea serpent, Crysel, an ice dragon with crystal wings, and Coralith, a coral sea dragon with branching coral horns and butterfly-like wings. Cool blues, snowy white and a warm coral orange can all find a place in these three pages.
Activity ideas
- Color Aqualune's fins with watercolor pencils, then lightly brush over them with a damp brush to blend blue into teal like shifting water.
- Rotate sky blue, lilac and white through each crystal piece of Crysel's wings, then copy the snowflake shapes by its feet and draw more around the page.
- Lay the three finished pages side by side and compare how much cool and warm color each one uses, then talk about why Coralith's coral orange stands out.
Tip Water techniques can wrinkle thin copy paper, so print on heavier paper and plan 30 to 40 minutes per dragon, split into two sittings so the first layer can dry.
