Ways to use this collection
Ignivar the volcano dragon, Ferragor the armored dragon, Duneskar the desert dragon and Chronogear the mechanical dragon are four original dragons, each with a color reference and a line drawing for eight pages. Lava, rocky armor, sand dunes and gears give each a different texture, so choosing color combinations is part of the fun.
Activity ideas
- Ask what colors fire and earth bring to mind, color Ignivar in the ones you imagined, then compare it with the reference to see what differs.
- Silver and gray pencil with a little brown layered on top gives Chronogear's gears and Ferragor's armor a metal and stone look. Vary the darkness from plate to plate.
- Draw where Duneskar lives on a map, then make a dragon card with its name, element and special skill and trade cards with a friend.
Tip Scales and armor plates are tightly packed, so plan 40 minutes or more per dragon for ages 8 and up, and print on A4 with clear lines.
