Monsters of Western Myth Coloring Pages
16 printable coloring pages from monsters of western myth — original characters that keep the shape the old stories describe, with new names, markings and palettes. Each comes as a pair: a color reference and black-and-white line art to print.
16 pages Open a title to see the finished version and the line art side by side.
Ways to use this collection
Eight monsters from Western myth are gathered here: Triceron the three-headed Cerberus, Chimerune the lion-goat-snake chimera, the many-headed hydra, a sphinx, a minotaur, a cyclops, a basilisk and a manticore. Scales, fur and stony skin make most pages medium to hard designs that reward slow work with colored pencils.
Activity ideas
- Color Chimerune's lion, goat and snake parts in clearly different colors, label each part, and quiz a friend on which animal is which.
- Give each of the hydra's heads its own expression and name, write one line of dialogue per head, and read them aloud in turn.
- Write a riddle the sphinx might ask on the back of its page, swap with a partner to solve it, and display the riddles with the finished art.
Tip Fur and scales are drawn densely, so a page can take 40 minutes or more; these suit ages 7 and up or a parent-child team, and coloring just one part is fine.
