Ways to use this collection
Three spring scenes from March to May appear in both Haewon and Jinwoo versions: a forsythia-lined Han River path, a palace stone wall in spring rain and a green Korean tea field. Pale yellows and light greens spread easily over wide areas, and colored pencil examples show one way to build up the colors.
Activity ideas
- In the March forsythia page, lay down yellow broadly then add a second layer for deeper spots, and blend sky blue with a touch of lilac for the river.
- Choose just three or four green pencils for the May tea field, alternate them row by row, and test how many moods you can get from greens.
- Color the April rain page with soft rain sounds playing, then jot a note on the back about your favorite part and any memory it brought up.
Tip The pale palette suits beginners; plan 40 to 60 minutes and finish one color family first, such as yellow for the forsythia or green for the tea field.
