Ways to use this collection
Rexflare the Tyrannosaurus rex, Rivensail the Spinosaurus, Dunerush the Carnotaurus, Raincrest the Dilophosaurus and Stonejaw the Allosaurus make five characters with a color reference and a line drawing each, ten pages in all. Big sails, head crests and sharp teeth stand out, and Stonejaw is an easy page.
Activity ideas
- What might these dinosaurs have eaten? Hear the children's guesses first, then color the teeth and claws in the lightest shade so they stand out.
- Find the sail on Rivensail and the crest on Raincrest, and write each trait on a small name tag to make a dinosaur feature card.
- Cut three-toed footprints from paper, stick them on the floor like a trail, and follow the trail up to the colored dinosaur.
Tip Some children are scared of big teeth, so let them start with small parts like eyes and claws; the set suits ages 5 and up, with the easy page okay from age 4.
