Ways to use this collection
A racket-sport set: table tennis with China, tennis with Britain, one more tennis page with no country, badminton, and Yerin rallying in a community gym. The paddle is small and round, the tennis racket is long and roomy, and badminton uses a feathered shuttlecock instead of a ball, so it is fun to compare racket shapes and ball sizes while you color.
Activity ideas
- Name the rackets, balls, and nets you find on each page, then act out with your hands how a table-tennis ball and a badminton shuttlecock might move differently.
- Tape a stick to a paper plate to make a racket and rally a balloon back and forth without letting it touch the floor.
- Put the two tennis pages side by side and color the outfits differently, then talk about how the same pose feels different with different colors.
Tip Ages 4 to 5 can focus on the body and clothes, while age 7 can add the racket strings and ball. Each page takes about 20 minutes.
