Ways to use this collection

This collection is for teens and adults who want a detailed scene to color slowly. Twelve Korean months unfold one page at a time: a snowy hanok courtyard, forsythia along the Han River path, the Chuseok full moon with songpyeon. Each month comes in a Haewon version and a Jinwoo version, so you can color the same scene twice.

Activity ideas

• Color one page a month and bind the twelve into a calendar. Fixing a palette for each month makes the change of seasons easy to see.
• Lay the Haewon and Jinwoo versions of the same month side by side. Use the reference colors on one and your own imagined time of day on the other, then compare.
• Tea sets, tiled hanok roofs and stone walls all have different textures. Try a different way of layering colored pencils on each to practice expressing them.

Tip Each page takes a while, so work from the background to the figure in separate sittings, and print on paper of 90 gsm or heavier so the pencils layer well.
