Ways to use this collection
Twenty-two New Testament scenes, such as the three wise men following the star, Zacchaeus up in the sycamore tree, the good Samaritan and the traveler, Jesus with his disciples on the Sea of Galilee, Jesus blessing the little children and the boy with five loaves and two fish. You can also pick by person: Mary of Nazareth, Peter with his fishing nets, Mary Magdalene at the empty tomb, or Paul making tents.
Activity ideas
- While coloring Zacchaeus in the tree, first ask why he might have climbed up, let children guess, and only then read the passage aloud.
- Have two children each take a page of the good Samaritan and the traveler, then act out a short scene about meeting a friend who needs help.
- After coloring the three wise men, stick yellow paper stars in a line from the classroom door to make a star path and let each child follow it.
Tip Each of the twenty-two pages tells a different story, so for a one-hour lesson pick one and read as you color; busy scenes with many people suit ages 6 and up.
